Our Story

Floatation Canada Inc. is a Toronto Island–based marine construction company specializing in floating docks, marina dock repair, and waterfront infrastructure across Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area. Founded in 2015, the company initially focused on field service and repairs for commercial floating dock systems, and quickly expanded into the design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation of custom floating docks to meet growing demand from marinas and marine operators.
Founder and owner Michael Hawkins brings more than 30 years of experience in marine construction and floating dock systems. Under his leadership, Floatation Canada Inc has built a strong reputation for innovative dock solutions, reliable marine repairs, and high-quality waterfront construction services.

Today, Floatation Canada employs a skilled multi-trade team and continues to invest in advanced equipment and facilities to better serve marinas, yacht clubs, and marine operators throughout Ontario. As a proud member of Boating Ontario, the company remains committed to it's involvement in the marine community by delivering durable floating dock systems, professional marine construction, and dependable repair services.

Floatation Canada provides a full range of marine services, including floating dock manufacturing, dock restoration, on-site marina repairs, aluminum fabrication, commercial pontoon boat construction, piling installation, and shoreline marine construction. The company also developed its proprietary Steel Tube Liner system, an innovative solution that allows waterlogged floating dock tubes to be restored and reinforced, extending the life of existing dock systems at a fraction of replacement costs.

Operating from workshop facilities on the Toronto Islands alongside the Island Yacht Club, Floatation Canada has unique access to marine lift equipment and waterfront workspaces, allowing large dock sections, wave attenuators, and marina structures to be repaired and restored in a controlled environment. The company also operates a custom-built floating work barge with a 12-ton hydraulic crane, enabling complex dock repairs, anchor installations, and marina infrastructure work directly within slips.
